Let's Get Started
Step 1
Using one sheet of colored paper, cut a small triangle for the beak and fold it in half. Cut a waddle shape out of a different colored paper. Cut a strip of paper out of a third sheet of colored paper and stamp or draw on a name. Use the scissors to cut v-notches at both ends to create a banner.
Step 2
Make ½ folds along the long side of the fourth sheet of colored paper. Use a little glue at the very bottom of the pleats, on both sides, pinch it together to create a fan shape, and clip the end together with the clothespin to hold it while it dries. Glue the name banner to the tail.

Step 5
Great job!
Glue the beak into the pinecone, tucking it in between the scales. Use adhesive dots to adhere the pinecone head and tail to the mandarin. Use a little glue to adhere the waddle and tuck it into the head. Hold in place for a minute or two while the glue sets.
TIP: If the adhesive dots aren't sticking to the mandarins, wash them with soapy water and dry them off well before adhering anything to them.

On your mark. Get set.
